Terms of Service
Effective August 20, 2026
Purpose
Stacks is a personal workout and nutrition tracker, free in its core version. Creating an account constitutes acceptance of the terms set out below.
Operator
Stacks is operated by Aurélien Durier, an individual established in France. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.
Account
Creating an account requires being at least 16 years old. The account holder is responsible for keeping the password confidential and for any activity carried out under the account. Suspected unauthorized access should be followed by a password change and a message to the address at the bottom of this page.
One person, one account. Credentials may not be shared.
Permitted use
Stacks is provided for personal, non-commercial use: logging one's own meals, workouts, and bodyweight, and consulting what has been logged. The following are prohibited:
- -Reverse-engineering, scraping, or automating the app or its API for purposes other than personal use.
- -Reselling access, or exposing Stacks data to third parties without their consent.
- -Using Stacks to cause harm to oneself or to others, or to circumvent medical advice, as set out in the health disclaimer below.
- -Attempting to disrupt the service, obtain unauthorized access, or upload malicious content.
Ownership of logged data
Everything logged into Stacks remains the property of the account holder. It is stored so that the app can display it back, and processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
All data can be exported from Settings → Account & data → Download my data. The account and its data can be permanently deleted from Settings → Account & data → Delete account.
Pricing and subscription
Stacks' core features are free for personal use. An optional auto-renewing subscription, Stacks Pro, unlocks additional features; which ones is described in the app and may evolve over time.
- -Purchase and billing are handled by Apple through the App Store. The price, taxes included, is displayed before purchase and may vary by region. Payment details never reach Stacks.
- -Where a free trial is offered, its duration is shown at the point of purchase. The trial converts into a paid subscription unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before it ends.
- -The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, from the Apple account's subscription settings on the device. Deleting the app, or the Stacks account, does not cancel the subscription.
- -After cancellation, the paid features remain available until the end of the period already paid; periods already started are not refunded by Stacks.
- -Refunds and, in the European Union, the right of withdrawal are exercised with Apple, which acts as the seller for App Store purchases, under the Apple Media Services terms.
The free version remains usable without a subscription, under the conditions set out in these terms.
Health disclaimer
Stacks is a tracker, not a medical device and not a coach. The targets it computes (calories, macronutrients) are estimates derived from a public formula (Mifflin-St Jeor) and from the values entered. They constitute a starting point, not a prescription.
Stacks is not a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional. In the event of a medical condition, a history of eating disorders, or specific dietary needs, a doctor or dietitian should be consulted before relying on the suggestions of the app.
Service availability
The operator endeavours to keep Stacks available, without guaranteeing uninterrupted service. Maintenance, infrastructure issues, or external incidents may interrupt it. No liability is accepted for losses caused by such interruptions.
Suspension and termination
The account may be deleted at any time from the app. The operator may suspend or close any account that breaches these terms or harms the service or its users, with prior warning where possible.
Liability
Stacks is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including data loss, missed targets, or health outcomes. This does not exclude liabilities that French law does not allow to be disclaimed (for example gross negligence or fraud).
Amendments
Material changes to these terms are notified in the app and reflected in the effective date shown above. Continued use of the service after the change constitutes acceptance of the new version; failing that, the account may be deleted.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of the operator's place of residence, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
For any question about these terms, write to adurier.pro@gmail.com.
